About Patwon ki Haveli
Five havelis in a row, begun in 1805 by Guman Chand Patwa for his five sons; the family traded in brocade and gold and silver thread, and the money shows in the carved balconies and lattice screens. The whole cluster took around fifty years to finish. One haveli is a private museum with period rooms and furniture; another is ASI-run and mostly bare. The lane itself is the reason to come.
