About Taragarh Fort, Ajmer

The hill fort above Ajmer is claimed as one of the oldest in India, begun by the Chauhans and fought over by every power that held the town. Most of it is ruin now, long walls and huge bastions, and the working heart is the dargah of Miran Sahib, the garrison commander killed here in 1202, which draws far more visitors than the fort. Not to be confused with the Taragarh of Bundi.
