About Soniji ki Nasiyan
A Digambar Jain temple built by the Soni family from 1865, dedicated to Rishabhdev. The temple proper is closed to non-Jains, but the two-storey hall beside it, the Swarna Nagari, is what everyone comes for: a gilded wooden model of the Jain cosmos and the city of Ayodhya, with gold-plated figures, airships and elephants filling the whole room. It took decades to make and is unlike anything else in the state.
What to see and do
- The Swarna Nagari gilded model of Ayodhya
- Gold-plated airships, elephants and processions
- Red sandstone exterior on Prithviraj Marg
- Rishabhdev temple beside the hall
