About Adhai Din ka Jhonpra

Qutb-ud-din Aibak had this mosque built in 1199 on the site of a Sanskrit college of the Chauhan king Vigraharaja IV, reusing its pillars: seventy of them, carved and stacked three high, hold up the prayer hall. Iltutmish added the seven-arched screen of Kufic and Tughra calligraphy in 1213. The name, the shed of two and a half days, comes from a later fair or a legend of a hurried build. It is behind the Dargah and usually empty.
