About Soami Bagh Samadh, Dayalbagh
The Radhasoami faith began in Agra in 1861 and the Samadh of its founder, Soamiji Maharaj, has been under construction at Soami Bagh since 1904, with marble carved by hand on site to a standard the workers are in no hurry to compromise. It is the slowest building project in India and the carving of pillars, vines and flowers is worth seeing for that alone. The Dayalbagh colony beside it is a tidy, self-run township.
What to see and do
- The Samadh, under construction since 1904
