Baba Ramdev, a fourteenth-century Tanwar Rajput folk deity revered by Hindus and Muslims, took samadhi here in 1384, and Maharaja Ganga Singh built the present temple over it in 1931. The village is 12 km north of Pokhran on the Jodhpur road, 110 km from Jaisalmer. The Bhadra fair in August and September draws lakhs of pilgrims, many of them walking for days.
