About Khuri
A village of mud-and-thatch houses 45 km south-west of Jaisalmer with its own stretch of dunes, and far fewer camps than Sam. You stay in a family-run guest house or a small camp, ride a camel out at dusk, and the night is dark and quiet. It suits people who want the desert without the loudspeakers. Same season rule as Sam: not in summer.
What to see and do
- Quiet dunes at dusk
- Village homestays
- Camel rides without the crowds
- Dark skies at night
