About Radha Kund and Kusum Sarovar

Two stops on the Govardhan road that sit very differently. Radha Kund and the adjoining Shyam Kund are the most sacred water in Braj for Gaudiya Vaishnavas, with a midnight bath on Ahoi Ashtami that draws couples hoping for children. Kusum Sarovar, a kilometre on, is a 1760s sandstone tank with the chhatris of Suraj Mal of Bharatpur and his queens, built by his son Jawahar Singh, and the evening light on it is very good.
