About Barsana

Radha's village, with the Shriji or Ladliji temple on top of the Brahmachal hill and a long stone stair or a ropeway to reach it. The Lathmar Holi, when the women of Barsana beat the men of Nandgaon with sticks while everyone is drenched in colour, is held about a week before Holi itself and draws far more cameras than the lanes can hold. Radhashtami in September is the other big day and much calmer.
