About Kans Qila
The high ground on the Yamuna at the northern end of the ghats, named for Kansa though what stands is far later. Raja Man Singh of Amber rebuilt the fort in the late 16th century and Sawai Jai Singh II put one of his observatories here in the 18th, of which nothing survives. Today it is walls, rubble and a good view over the river, more interesting for the position than for what is left.
What to see and do
- Ruined ramparts above the Yamuna
- Site of a vanished Jai Singh observatory
- View along the ghats
