About Takht Sri Patna Sahib

Guru Gobind Singh was born here in 1666, which makes this one of the five Takhts of Sikhism and the reason Sikhs from Punjab and Canada turn up in old Patna City. The white marble gurudwara is largely a 1950s rebuild after the 1934 earthquake wrecked the shrine Ranjit Singh had raised. Prakash Parv in late December or early January is the big gathering. The langar runs all day.
