About Mahavir Mandir
The Hanuman temple outside Patna Junction, rebuilt in the 1980s and now one of the richest temples in north India. Its trust funds the Mahavir Cancer Sansthan and several hospitals. Almost everyone leaving a train stops to buy Naivedyam, the ghee laddoos made by cooks brought from Tirupati. There is a stone said to float, brought from the Ram Setu. Queues are long on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
