About Maner Sharif
Thirty kilometres west of Patna, this small town holds two Sufi shrines. The Bari Dargah is the grave of Makhdoom Yahya Maneri, who died in 1291. The Chhoti Dargah, the tomb of Makhdoom Shah Daulat completed in 1616 by Ibrahim Khan, governor of Bihar under Jahangir, is the finest Mughal building in the state, a sandstone tomb with a carved dome set beside a tank. Maner laddoos are the other reason people come.
