About Menal

A group of 11th and 12th-century Shiva temples on the lip of a gorge where the Menali river drops about 45 m, on the Chittorgarh to Bundi road. The Mahanaleshwar temple is the big one, Chauhan work with carving that gets it called a small Khajuraho, and there are ruined palaces of the Chauhan rulers and a Shaiva monastery. The fall only runs in the monsoon and a few weeks after; the rock is slippery and the drop is real.
