About Mandore Gardens
Mandore was the Rathore capital before Jodhpur, and the gardens hold the cenotaphs of the rulers who died before the move, built as temples rather than the usual open chhatris. The Hall of Heroes is a row of sixteen folk deities and warriors cut from one rock face and painted. The gardens are scruffy and full of langurs, but the dewals are the best Rathore architecture outside the fort.
