About Arna Jharna Desert Museum
The folklorist Komal Kothari planned this open-air museum in an abandoned quarry as a way of recording how desert people live, and the first gallery is given over entirely to brooms, more than a hundred of them, each explained. There are folk instruments, a nursery of desert plants and a pond that fills in the rains. It is about ten kilometres west of the city and easy to pair with Kaylana.
