About Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary

A sanctuary that runs from 500 m to 3250 m over the Eaglenest ridge, and the finest birding site in India: over 500 species, including the Bugun liocichla, described from here in 2006 and found nowhere else. The Bugun community runs the tented camps at Lama Camp and Bompu; there is no other accommodation and no phone signal. Spring, March to mid May, is the peak. The road is a rough jeep track and closes in the rains.
