About Bomdila
The West Kameng headquarters at 2415 m, and the overnight halt on the first day from Tezpur to Tawang. The Gelugpa monastery above the town was consecrated by the Dalai Lama in 1997, the craft centre sells Monpa carpets and Sherdukpen masks, and on a clear morning the view point takes in Kangto, at 7060 m the highest peak in the state. Apple orchards in autumn. Cold, and often clouded over by afternoon.
