About Verinag
A blue spring set in an octagonal stone basin at the foot of the Pir Panjal, said to be the source of the Jhelum. The Mughal emperor Jahangir built the surrounding arcade and a garden in 1620. The water stays clear and cool, and the setting under tall pines is calm. It is a good stop on the road to Kokernag.
