About Tiger Hill
The most popular sunrise point near Darjeeling, at about 2,573 metres, around 11 km from the town. On a clear morning the first light turns the Kanchenjunga range gold, and you can sometimes see Mount Everest in the distance. Jeeps leave from the town around 3:30 to 4 in the morning, and the viewing area fills up fast, so go early. Dress warmly, and clouds can hide the view, especially in the monsoon.
