About Batasia Loop and War Memorial

A spiral track of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, where the toy train loops around a garden above the town, with a war memorial to the Gorkha soldiers. The garden gives a good view of Darjeeling and, on clear mornings, of Kanchenjunga. Time your visit with the passing of the toy train, which runs several times a day. It is a short ride from town, and a good stop on the way to Ghum and Tiger Hill.
