About St Augustine Tower and Ruins

The tall bell tower of the Augustinian church, standing alone on the Holy Hill. The large church and convent were built in the early 1600s, abandoned in 1835 and have mostly collapsed, with the front tower the main thing left standing. Walk around the ruins and the surrounding grounds, which are quiet and green, and bring water in summer. A good stop for photographers in the early light.
