About Rumi Darwaza
The 18-metre gateway Asaf-ud-Daula put up in 1784, the same year as the Bara Imambara, and the image on half the postcards of Lucknow. It is said to copy a gate in Istanbul, hence the name. Traffic has been moved off it, so you can now stand under the arch without dodging autos.
