About Kakori
On 9 August 1925 members of the Hindustan Republican Association stopped the Down train near here and took the government cash it carried; Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqulla Khan were hanged for it. A memorial marks the event. Kakori also gave its name to the kebab, and the Dussehri mango orchards of Malihabad begin just up the road.
