About Chattar Manzil

The umbrella palace of the Nawabs on the Gomti, named for the gilded chattri on its dome. It grew out of Farhat Baksh Kothi, the town house Claude Martin built for himself in 1781, with cool underground rooms opening to the river. It housed a research institute for decades and has been under restoration for years, so what you can enter changes.
