About La Martiniere (Constantia)
Claude Martin, a French soldier turned Nawabi arms dealer and one of the richest men in India, built Constantia as his country house in the 1790s and is buried in its basement. His will turned it into a school, open since 1845, and it is still one. It is a working school, so write to the office before you turn up.
