About Reis Magos Fort and Church

A fort at the mouth of the Mandovi river, across from Panaji, set up in the 1550s and rebuilt in the 1700s. It was a viceroy's residence for a while and later a prison. After a long restoration it now serves as a heritage and cultural space with views up the river. Next to it stands the Church of the Three Kings, whose feast is held on 6 January. Plan an hour on the walls and a short stop at the church.
