About Ranipur Tiger Reserve
Notified in 2022 as the fourth tiger reserve in Uttar Pradesh, made from the old Ranipur sanctuary in the Vindhya forest south of Manikpur, a corridor for tigers moving out of Panna. Infrastructure is still thin, so treat it as a forest drive with a permit rather than a safari destination. Marpha fort and the Sarbhanga ashram in the same hills fill out the day.
What to see and do
- Vindhya dry forest and the Panna corridor
- Leopard, sloth bear and winter birds
- Marpha fort in the hills
- Sarbhanga ashram
Part of Vindhya and Kaimur.
