About Namgyal Tsemo Gompa
A small hilltop monastery above Leh Palace, built in the 15th century and still holding a large gilded Buddha and old wall paintings. A short path leads up from the palace, and the ruined fort and view of the valley make it worth the walk. Sunrise and sunset are the best times.
