About Mehtab Bagh
The Moonlight Garden, a Mughal charbagh on the Yamuna bank exactly opposite the Taj and aligned with it, restored from a sand dune in the 1990s. This is where the sunset photographs of the Taj across the river are taken, and there is a further free viewpoint on the riverbank just outside the fence. It is also the spot of the Black Taj legend, for which excavation found no evidence.
