About Khatu Shyam Ji

Khatu Shyam is Barbarika of the Mahabharata, the grandson of Bhima who gave his head to Krishna before the war and was granted worship in the Kali Yuga under Krishna's own name. The head is said to have surfaced in the Shyam Kund here. In the last decade it has become one of the busiest temples in north India, with kilometre-long lines on weekends and Ekadashi. The Phalgun Mela in February or March brings millions.
