About Fatehpur Shekhawati
Fatehpur was founded in 1451 and grew rich on the caravan trade, and its merchants covered their havelis in frescoes through the 19th century. The Nand Lal Devra haveli of 1802 was bought by the French artist Nadine Le Prince in 1998 and restored room by room; it is the one to pay for. The Jagannath Singhania and Saraogi havelis are grander and shabbier, and the town is quieter than Mandawa.
