About Kabir Math, Lahartara
Kabir, the 15th-century weaver-poet, is by tradition found as an infant on a lotus in the Lahartara pond, and the Kabir Prakatya Dham math beside it marks the spot. The bigger Kabir Chaura math in the city, where he lived and taught, holds relics said to be his loom and sandals. Kabir Jayanti on the full moon of Jyeshtha, in June, brings Kabirpanthis from across India. Quiet and little visited the rest of the year.
