About Assi Ghat
The southernmost of the main ghats, wider and less hemmed in than the rest, where the small Assi stream meets the Ganga. Subah-e-Banaras runs here every morning from before sunrise: a short aarti, a classical music recital and open yoga on the platform, and it is the calmest hour on the whole river. Most sunrise boat rides start from here. The stairs flood in August and September.
