About Dashashwamedh Ghat & Ganga Aarti
The main ghat, where Brahma is said to have sacrificed ten horses, and where the Ganga aarti is performed every evening about half an hour after sunset. Arrive an hour early for a place on the steps, or watch from a boat, which is how most people do it. In late monsoon the river climbs the steps and the aarti moves up to the road. On Dev Deepawali, the full moon of Kartik, every ghat is lit with lamps and the crowd is enormous.
