About Bharat Mata Mandir
A temple with no god in it: the object of worship is a relief map of undivided India carved in white marble, with mountains, rivers and plains to scale. Shiv Prasad Gupta built it inside the Kashi Vidyapith campus and Mahatma Gandhi opened it in October 1936, meant as a place for people of every faith. It takes fifteen minutes and is worth the detour from Cantt station.
