About Haldighati
The pass where Maharana Pratap fought Akbar's army under Man Singh of Amber on 18 June 1576, named for the turmeric-yellow soil. Pratap lost the field and kept the war going from the hills for years. Rakt Talai, the pond of blood, has the memorials, and the Chetak Samadhi at Balicha marks where his wounded horse died carrying him away. A private museum at Khamnor tells the story with dioramas and is better than it sounds.
