About Gupta Dham Cave
A natural limestone cave deep in the Kaimur hills with a Shiva linga at the end of a passage several hundred metres long, tied to the legend of Shiva hiding from Bhasmasur. Getting there is a walk of a few kilometres through forest from the road head near Panari, and the cave floor is wet and uneven, so take a torch and shoes with grip. Shravan and Shivratri bring lakhs of pilgrims; the rest of the year it is empty forest.
