About Gangabal Lake

A large glacial lake at the foot of Mount Harmukh, believed to be sacred and visited by pilgrims each year in August. It is reached by a day or two on foot from Naranag, and the twin lake Nundkol lies behind. The walk goes through forest and meadow and gets steeper at the end. It is quiet and beautiful, and good for a short trek.
