About Alwar City Palace and Museum

Bakhtawar Singh built Vinay Vilas Mahal in 1793 in a mix of Rajput and Mughal styles, and most of it is now the district collectorate, so you walk through working offices to reach the museum on the upper floor. The museum earns the climb: Alwar-school miniatures, Persian and Arabic manuscripts including a fine Gulistan, and an armoury with a lot of ceremonial steel. The tank and the Moosi Maharani chhatri are just behind.
