About Allen Forest Zoo
Kanpur Zoological Park opened in 1971 inside 76 hectares of the old Allen Forest, and the forest is the point: this is one of the few zoos in the country where the animals are in real woodland rather than a park, with a lake in the middle. It is large enough to take a whole morning, and the shade matters in this city.
