About Zokhawthar Border
The Myanmar crossing, 28 km east of Champhai and 1000 metres lower, where a bridge over the Tiau river leads to Rihkhawdar in Chin State. Three kilometres beyond is Rih Dil, the heart-shaped lake that Mizo tradition holds the souls of the dead pass through, the most important place in the old religion and just outside the country. Crossing depends on the border pass rules of the day; the Indian side, the river and the market are open.
