About Umbrella Falls & Arthur Lake
Umbrella Falls only exists when Wilson Dam overflows, and it earns its name from the way the spill fans outwards. Arthur Lake behind it is the reservoir. In May the same area hosts Maharashtra's best-known firefly gathering, when whole trees pulse with light after dark.
What to see and do
- Umbrella-shaped dam spillway in full flow
- Arthur Lake boating and lakeside camping
- Firefly festival in May
- Wilson Dam, one of India's oldest masonry dams
