About Alang-Madan-Kulang (AMK)
Widely rated the toughest trek in Maharashtra. Three neighbouring fort-summits, Alang, Madan and Kulang, connected by exposed rock patches that need fixed ropes, harnesses and a technical guide. Doing all three is a three-day expedition and is genuinely serious mountaineering, not a walk-up.
What to see and do
- The exposed rock patch between Alang and Madan
- Rock-cut steps and caves on Alang
- Kulang's long summit plateau and water cisterns
- Night sky above the Alang caves
- Views across to Kalsubai and Ratangad
Part of Sahyadri (Western Ghats).
