About Bhairavgad (Shirpunje)
A small fort with an outsized reputation, thanks to a stretch of near-vertical rock-cut steps followed by a 40-ft iron ladder pinned to the cliff. The exposure is real and the fort at the top is mostly ruins, people come for the ascent itself, not the destination.
What to see and do
- Vertical rock-cut steps with big exposure
- The 40-ft iron ladder section
- Bhairavnath temple on the summit
