About Ratangad
A compact 400-year-old fort with a rock formation at the top called Nedhe, a natural hole punched clean through the ridge, big enough to walk into and frame Kalsubai through. The approach from Ratanwadi crosses the Pravara river; in monsoon you take a boat across the Bhandardara backwaters, which makes the trip half journey, half trek.
What to see and do
- Nedhe, the natural rock 'eye' in the summit ridge
- Amruteshwar temple at Ratanwadi, 1,200 years old
- Boat crossing over Bhandardara backwaters in monsoon
- Ganesh, Hanuman and Konkan gates
- Caves near the top used for overnight stays
