About Taragarh Fort

The Star Fort above the palace, built from 1354, with a big bastion called Bhim Burj that once carried the Garbh Gunjan cannon, and several large tanks cut into the rock. It is overgrown and ruinous, the path up from the palace is steep and the monkeys are bold, so people carry a stick. The view over Bundi, the lakes and the Hadoti plain is the reward.
