About Someshwar Fort Trek

The Someshwar range is the low Shivalik ridge that forms the Nepal border inside the tiger reserve, and the fort ruins on its top, at about 880 metres, are the highest point in Bihar. The trek is a few hours each way through sal forest on a forest track, and you must take a guide and a permit because it is core tiger country. There is little masonry left; the reason to go is the ridge itself and the view north into Nepal.

What to see and do

Part of Shivalik Hills.
