About Shalimar Bagh
A Mughal garden laid out by Emperor Jahangir in 1619 for his wife Noor Jahan, with four terraces that rise from the lake edge to a pavilion. Water runs through channels and fountains, and old chinar trees give shade. The garden is at its best in April and May when the flowers are out, and in October when the chinars turn red.
