About Dal Lake
The lake that Srinagar is known for, ringed by the Zabarwan hills and the Mughal gardens. A shikara ride at sunrise or sunset takes you past houseboats, floating gardens and the lakeside market, and the Nehru Park and Char Chinar islets. The morning floating vegetable market near Nalla Amir Khan is a lovely sight. The lake is at its best in spring and autumn, and in winter a thin ice sometimes forms at the edges.
